How big is the Apple iPad?
Screen Resolution: 1024×768
It’s about 8 inches tall, 10 inches across diagonally, 6 inches wide. About 1/2 inch thick, and the iPad weighs about 1 1/2 pounds.
Apple iPad Features:
- Wifi
- Bluetooth
- Headphone Jack
- built-in speaker
- lithium-ion rechargeable battery
- NAND Flash memory (this acts as your hard drive)
- Accelerometer (this senses motion)
- Custom 1 Gigahertz processor
- screen coating
- built-in compass
- built-in microphone
- Slot for AT&T Sim Card for 3G wireless (If you wait for the 3G version. It will cost you $15/month for 250 MB which is not much at all! – or $29.99/month for unlimited internet – pretty good deal)
Note, you will need to connect to a computer running Apple iTunes 9 to setup the device.
If you do not get the 3G-capable iPad, which costs more & will not be available until later this summer, you will need Wireless at your home. The 3G version can by used anywhere AT&T works – for example, at the park, on a bus, et cetera.
Apple iPad, no 3G network:
Can only be used on wireless network.
Wifi Only Version – $499 for 16GB of Memory (entry level)
Wifi Only Version – $599 for 32GB of Memory (more space)
Wifi Only Version – $699 for 64GB of Memory (biggest drive space)
Apple iPad with 3G network:
Can be used anywhere AT&T works. Monthly charge for AT&T
Wifi + 3G – $629 for 16GB of Memory (entry level)
Wifi + 3G – $729 for 32GB of Memory (more space)
Wifi + 3G – $829 for 64GB of Memory (biggest drive space)
